Topics: “Emergency Medicine: back-to-basics” & “Stayin' Alive”DOCTORS: Emergency Medicine: back-to-basicsMedical emergencies can, and do, happen in the practice of dentistry. Prior preparation of the office and training of the doctor and staff can greatly increase the likelihood of a positive outcome. In this program Dr. Malamed will review steps involved in preparation, including the emergency drug kit, as will as the basics of emergency management with an eye toward the most common situations encountered in the dental office. ASSISTANTS: Stayin' AliveMedical emergencies can, and do, happen in the practice of dentistry. The ability to keep the victim alive for the approximately 10 minutes until arrival of Emergency Medical Services will greatly improve the likelihood of a successful outcome. In this program Dr. Malamed will review the basic steps required to save a life, to keep a person alive until they either recover or help arrives on the scene to take over their management. |
